The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM by Selectman Michael Genest in the Little Town Hall.
Members Present: Michael Genest, John Robertson
Members Absent: Gordon Webber
Staff present: Donna Hanson (Town Administrator)
Agenda Items:
- Mr. Robertson moved to approve the Board of Selectmen (BOS) minutes of December 14, 2015; Mr. Genest seconded. Passed 2/0 Mr. Robertson moved to approve the Board of Selectmen Non-Public minutes of December 14, 2015. Mr. Genest seconded Passed 2/0
Warrant preview:
- Highland Ave/Pleasant Street: The Water & Sewer Commissioners met to discuss the Highland Ave/Pleasant Street project. The commissioners said they have water quality issues that need to be addressed and therefore those projects are taking priority over Highland Ave/Pleasant at this time. The replacement well and river crossing need immediate attention and they plan to apply for a 3.5 million dollar loan/grant through the USDA. The plan is to complete the projects in 3 phases over a few years. Donna Hanson has been looking in to grants for the Highland Ave/Pleasant Street project and is finding that the water & sewer department have more opportunities for grants than the town. Ms. Hanson will look in to the best way to apply for the grants either as one project or one application for all projects. The water & sewer
commissioners and the Selectmen will meet again in early January.
- West Street over Great Brook 80/20 bridge program – Engineering estimated cost is $75,000.00.
- Modify Elderly Exemption income limit. This was last done in 2004.
Other Business:
- Antrim Wind LLC has asked permission to put a sound meter at Gregg Lake like they had done in the past. The Site Evaluation Committee (SEC) has come out with new rules that require some modification to the sound study that was conducted previously. The SEC is requiring additional information for the study. Mr. Genest motioned to grant permission to put a sound meter at Gregg Lake. Mr. Robertson seconded. Passed 2/0
- The next scheduled Board of Selectmen meetings are:
January 4th, January 19th, February 1, February 10, February 29.
- Mr. Robertson spoke to Sean Ryan from the Peterborough Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Robertson is looking for ways to revitalize the Antrim Chamber and bring more business to Antrim.
- Mr. Robertson motioned to go into non-public session under RSA 91-A:3 II (b) hiring. Mr. Genest seconded. Passed 2/0
Mr. Robertson motioned to come out of non-public session under RSA 91-A:3 (b) hiring. Mr. Webber seconded. Passed 2/0
- After no further business Mr. Genest moved to adjourn. Seconded by Mr. Robertson. Passed 3/0
